Scar Treatment

What is Scar Treatment?

Our recommended doctors use a multi-faceted approach to scar treatment:

First, Enerjet 2.0 technology utilises the power of air pressure energy to blast different compounds into the skin without the use of needles.

Second, CO2 Laser addresses the surface of the scar in order to better blend it with the surrounding skin. This too is an extremely effective scar treatment. Lastly, in severe cases, Morpheus8 technology is used as it is an extensive needling treatment that addresses the scar tissue from within.

What is Scar Treatment for?

The above scar treatments can help remodel many types of scarring including:

  • Acne scarring (all types of acne scars)
  • Stretch marks
  • Burn scars
  • Hypertrophic (elevated scars) and atrophic (depressed) scars
  • Surgical scars
  • Keloid scars (lumpy scars that spread beyond the original injury)
  • Chicken Pox scars

How does it work?

The Enerjet 2.0 is a needle-free system that injects a jet of hyaluronic acid or other active serums (depending on the condition being treated) into the skin, in order to repair it.

As a result of blasting the serums into the skin at a very fast speed, the compounds easily penetrate the skin barrier and cause “micro-injuries” in the deeper skin tissue. As a result, it instigates the skin tissue repair mechanism. Additionally, the healing compounds that are injected also act as part of the healing process. Finally, by injuring the tissue and allowing it to heal itself, doctors are able to achieve the desired result.

This treatment is painless and is considered one of the most popular scar treatments in the UK.

FAQ

How do I know if I am suitable for a scar treatment?

Enerjet treatment is suitable for all skin types and does not carry a risk of hyperpigmentation. However, if you recently had a chemical peel or laser treatment on your face, you might be asked to delay the scar treatment by a few weeks.

What can I expect to happen during treatment?

Depending on the size of the area we are treating, sessions usually take about 20 minutes. The device will be positioned over the scar and the pneumatic serums injections will target the scar, initiating the remodelling process.

How many treatments will I need?

Depending on the size and type of the scar tissue, your doctor will recommend the course of treatments you require. A course usually entails two to three sessions, spaced three to six weeks apart.

Does it hurt?

As a no-needle technology, Enerjet is regarded as almost painless with most patients experiencing little to no discomfort. Patients describe a feeling of short moments of swift air pressure as the jet hits the skin. A topical anaesthetic or numbing cream may also be applied before the treatment for added comfort.

What are the possible side effects?

Enerjet entails minimal downtime, although you may wish to avoid social events for 2-3 days due to redness. In addition, expect a rash-like appearance on the skin immediately following the treatment, with small raised bumps that mark the entry points for each jet of serum. These will reduce in the first few hours following the treatment.

What results can I expect?

Visible results are not immediate as this treatment aims at stimulating the repair of skin cells. You can expect to see changes and improvements in scarring after two to three months.

How long will the results last?

Results are long-lasting, expected to last three to five years, or even longer, depending on the individual patient and the scar tissue type.

How much does scar treatment cost?

The scar treatment cost depends on the number of sessions required to achieve the desired result. You will discuss a bespoke price with your doctor. However, prices in the UK usually start from £990.
