At the CREO Clinic in London, Morpheus8 is used as a noninvasive procedure that works to tighten, lift and contour the skin of the face, neck and body, especially targeting areas with significant wrinkles, scarring or discolouration.  Its transformative outcomes mean it has quickly  become one of our most sought after dermatological treatments.

Morpheus8 is an advanced fractional radio-frequency (RF) treatment which delivers controlled-depth heating through an array of micro-needles. The Morpheus8 technology allows our doctors to safely deliver RF heat energy to different depths of the skin over 1-3 thirty minute sessions. The controlled trauma this creates in the skin or fat layers promotes collagen and elastin production and helps significantly improve the appearance of the skin.

How Does Morpheus8 Work?

Morpheus8 uses cutting-edge radio frequency (RF) technology to deliver thermal energy beneath your skin via specially designed micro needles, jumpstarting your body’s natural healing response and production of collagen and elastin, firming up skin laxity, removing wrinkles and helping reduce the appearance of acne scars. Twenty-four coated needles penetrate the skin to deliver the RF energy at a depth that is personalised to treat your particular needs.

What Can Morpheus8 Treat?

A versatile and highly effective fractional skin treatment, Morpheus8 can address skin concerns anywhere on the body. The most common treatment areas are the face and neck, but Morpheus8 technology can also make enhancements to the skin of the torso.

Here are some of the issues Morpheus8 commonly treats:

  • Jowls
  • Lax neck skin or ‘turkey neck’
  • Double chin
  • Wrinkles
  • Acne Scarring
  • Stretch Marks
  • Nasolabial folds

It is also important to note that the procedure can have significant effects on all severities of skin issues, and can comfortably treat all skin types.

What to Expect During the Procedure

Before Treatment

Before your procedure, Dr. Tillo will make a medical assessment of the treatment zones and precisely identify the areas where it will be delivered. He will also make sure you are fully aware of which areas he is going to treat, ensure your expectations for the procedure are realistic, and provide a thorough explanation of the likely outcomes and any risks involved.

During Treatment

Dr. Tillo will first administer a topical anaesthetic cream and local anaesthetic to the treatment sites around 60-90 minutes before the procedure. This is to ensure you will be comfortable and pain-free throughout treatment, which lasts around 30 minutes. The Morpheus8 device is then applied to the target areas, gently pushing its needles under your skin to deliver the radiofrequency energy that will promote collagen and elastin production.

After Treatment

For the first 12 hours after your Morpheus8 treatment, it is important not to apply any creams or makeup to the treated skin. Dr. Tillo will provide further instructions for your minimal downtime during your post-procedural consultation to help the sessions achieve optimal results.

Morpheus8 Recovery Time

Downtime varies and depends on the depth of treatment performed. For more superficial skin treatments, you can expect downtime of around 24-48 hours, five days for deeper facial treatments, and up to a week for body treatments.

Your skin may feel tight immediately after treatment, with some post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, redness, swelling, possible minor bruising, and tenderness that may last up to two or three days.

You might notice small, dot-like marks on the skin where the micro-needles have penetrated the surface. These are perfectly normal and will shrink and heal after 1-3 days.

    – Programmable treatment depths – The needles used by the Morpheus8 device can target precise depths of sub-dermal tissue and can be altered to achieve tightening and even the deepest layers of your skin.
Short, straightforward and safe – The treatment is direct, safe, and lasts only 30 minutes per session. The procedure requires local anaesthetic and numbing creams, meaning it runs far fewer risks than more invasive surgery.

How long does the treatment take?

Face and neck treatments using Morpheus8 last between 30 and 45 minutes, with body treatments lasting approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour.

How soon after Morpheus8 will I see results?

Although you can expect some immediate tightening as a result of the tissue coagulation caused by the delivery of radio-frequency energy, this is by no means the full extent of your result.

The cosmetic treatment is aimed at diminishing fat cells, stimulating the repair of skin cells, and boosting elastin and collagen production over time. As such, improvements in skin texture, skin tightness, and fat remodelling will continue in the weeks and months after treatment.  You can expect to see further changes and improvements after four to six weeks, with continued improvements after each Morpheus8 treatment session.

The number of sessions required depends on the severity of the issues at hand, however, 1-3 sessions between 4-6 weeks apart are usually sufficient to deal with most skin concerns.

    Are Morpheus8 treatments painful?

    How long does Morpheus8 last?

Morpheus8 results are long-lasting, usually requiring maintenance after 2 years, but they are not permanent.  It is important to remember that the ageing process in our bodies and our skin is continuous. In order to contribute to the long-lasting results of your treatment and your general well-being, we encourage our patients to try to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

How soon can I wear makeup again after a Morpheus8 treatment?

You are advised not to scratch or scrub the area of the skin treated, as this can induce infection, scarring, or pigmentation changes. Aftercare advice will be provided, however, you should expect to avoid wearing makeup up to 2-3 days after your Morpheus8 treatment.

How soon can I breastfeed after having Morpheus8 treatment?

In general, Morpheus8 treatment is not advisable for women who are pregnant or have recently given birth, as the numbing cream and local anaesthetic used are not recommended while breastfeeding.

What aftercare tips should I follow for Morpheus8?

Dr. Tillo will provide a comprehensive explanation of your aftercare steps at the end of your session, but it is important to keep your hands clean when touching the treatment site for the 48 hours after the procedure and to avoid direct sunlight or use a high-factor SPF if sun exposure is unavoidable.

The treatment is highly effective for scars, smoothing out and softening the skin to create a visible improvement over the months after your final treatment.

How well does Morpheus8 work for acne?

The Morpheus8 treatment can treat active acne and acne scars. The radiofrequency energy delivered by the Morpheus8 device can help destroy the bacteria that cause acne, as well as smooth out acne scars through regenerative collagen and elastin.

    Can I have Morpheus8 if I’ve had a C-section?

Yes, Morpheus8 can safely be undergone after C-section, but it is best to wait until after breastfeeding is complete. Radiofrequency energy can be used to improve the appearance of C-section scars.

    Is Morpheus8 different from microneedling?

Although both Morpheus8 and microneedling treatments involve similar techniques, Morpheus8 uses radiofrequency energy and precise needle depth to deliver a more targeted and effective enhancement.

Should I stop using topical skin creams before the treatment?

Ideally, you should stop using any topical skin creams for 48 hours before your Morpheus8 treatment.

    Can men have Morpheus8 treatments?

Yes. As Morpheus8 can treat any skin type, both men and women can benefit significantly from Morpheus8 applications.

Why is radiofrequency used in aesthetics?

RF treatments are prized in aesthetics for their ability to deliver heat generating energy directly to the subcutaneous tissue, meaning they can tighten up the skin from deep below the top layer. Above all, the technology is highly valued for its effectiveness and transformative capabilities.

How is Morpheus8 different from other RF treatments?

The targeted approach of Morpheus8 means that the radiofrequency energy can be delivered deep into the tissue to create improved rejuvenation of the skin compared to other RF treatments.

    Complementary Treatments

Morpheus8 treatment is commonly combined with other advanced technology treatments we offer at the CREO Clinic, such as BodyTite. It is also safe to use in combination with a variety of other invasive and noninvasive procedures according to individual goals and desired results that you will discuss with our doctors during your consultation.

    Morpheus8 and BodyTite

BodyTite works to remove pockets of fat that are resistant to exercise, also helping the skin to contract and leave a smoother top dermal layer. Morpheus8 and Bodytite can be combined in order to tackle stubborn fat deposits and provide skin-tightening enhancements at the same time.

Combining this with Morpheus8 means you can reap the benefits of two extremely effective skin tightening procedures – Morpheus8 for encouraging the production of collagen and elastin for regeneration, and Bodytite for removing fat pockets and tightening the skin in large areas like the stomach, upper arms, or thighs. The combination of these skin-tightening treatments allows for a more holistic, full-body transformation.
