Experts of Hyperhidrosis Treatment in London

In our London practice, we are proud to be the first clinic to offer painless Hyperhidrosis treatment. Certainly, excessive sweating on the hands and feet are known to be painful. As a result, Dr. Ghanem, helped to develop a new method to make it comparatively painless.

Primary hyperhidrosis is a medical condition in which an individual has a broken heat regulation system. We call it primary because there is no known cause for it. Unlike, secondary hyperhidrosis, which can be a side effect of medication or hormonal changes such as menopause or other hormonal abnormalities.

We offer a variety of hyperhidrosis treatments at our London clinic. These are mainly drug injections and radiofrequency micro-needling using the Morpheus8 device.

The drug is an injectable prescription-only medicine available in different brands. It is licensed in the UK for the management of severe hyperhidrosis of the axillae (armpits). We use this drug in combination with a needle-free injection device called the Enerjet 2.0. This device can painlessly administrate the drug to different places of the body, including the hands, armpits and feet.

How Does it Work?

Hyperhidrosis treatment with toxin works by temporarily stopping the communication channels between the nerves and the sweat glands. Therefore, we are able to reduce the amount of sweating that occurs for a short period of time.

We use the Enerjet 2.0 system which is a no-needle system that uses air pressure to introduce the drug into the skin. The air pressure is so strong that it can cross the skin barrier easily and reach the sweat glands.

The pain level reduces significantly since there is no needle invlolved. Most importantly, Palmar (Hands) Hyperhidrosis can be very painful. Using the Enerjet 2.0 dramatically reduces pain and makes the treatment bearable for the patient.

How do I know if I am suitable for Hyperhidrosis treatment?

During a consultation with our doctor you will discuss where the excessive sweating is affecting you and diagnose the hyperhidrosis. Our doctor can discuss treatment options with you and will be able to prescribe the toxin if he establishes it as the most appropriate solution for you after other methods of sweat reduction, such as strong antiperspirants, have proven ineffective.
If you are pregnant or currently breastfeeding you will not be suitable for the toxin treatment and will need to await the period of weaning your child before we can embark on a treatment plan.

What can I expect to happen during Hyperhidrosis treatment?

Our doctor will identify the pattern of excessive sweating and mark it before the treatment. When treating the underarms, you will be required to shave any hair before your appointment.
Using the Enerjet system to deliver the toxin makes it a quicker treatment as we can treat a larger area each time. We position the device over the treated area ( armpits, the palm of the hand, sole of the foot or area of the face, such as the forehead) to target the sweat glands.
The treatment lasts around 30-45 minutes depending on the area we treat.

How many treatments will I need?

At our London clinic, we complete a Hyperhidrosis treatment within one treatment session. We offer repeated treatments when the effects wear off.

Does Hperhidrosis treatment hurt?

As a no-needle system, Enerjet is regarded as almost painless with most patients experiencing little to no discomfort.
We apply a topical anesthetic or numbing cream before treatment commences for added comfort. Our doctor will ensure that you are comfortable and relaxed throughout your treatment.

What are the possible side effects?

The toxins take approximately 5 days to begin to take effect and reduce excess sweat in the treated area. Expect to notice an increasing reduction in sweating in the days following your treatment.
During this time, you may experience a feeling of tightness in the areas treated as the product gets to work. The Enerjet device can produce a rash-like appearance on the skin immediately following treatment, with small, raised bumps which mark the entry point for each jet of Botulinum Toxin. These will reduce in the first few hours after treatment. If treating the palms of the hands or soles of the feet, these may feel a bit tender to the touch for a few hours following treatment.

What results can I expect?

After up to a week, the toxin will take effect and you will notice a reduction of sweat in the treated area treated. Over time and repeated treatments, hyperhidrosis can be effectively managed to the point that you can live a normal life without worrying about excessive sweating.

How long will the results of Hyperhidrosis treatment last?

The effects of the Toxin last between 2 and 4 months, sometimes longer.

How much does Hyperhidrosis treatment London cost?

The cost of the hyperhidrosis treatment with the Enerjet 2.0 cost will depend on the area that we are treating. Prices for treatment of excessive sweating in the underarm, for example, start from £750. Without the Enerjet 2.0 its £490.
