What is BodyTite?

BodyTite is one of Rae clinic’s signature treatments. We use the Bodytite technology to contour the body, eliminate fat and tighten the skin.

BodyTite is a mini-invasive treatment by Inmode. Simply put, it is an advanced method of liposuction which uses radio-frequency (RF) energy to simultaneously tighten the skin while permanently removing fat cells. As a result, BodyTite is considered to be the most effective body sculpting treatment in the market.

Our Clinical Director, Dr. Ali Ghanem, is the first UK based plastic surgeon to work with the BodyTite technology. As an international key opinion leader, Dr. Ghanem also acts to instruct these advanced techniques to other surgeons in the field.

What is BodyTite for?

We use BodyTite for scar-less body sculpting for both men and women. That is to say, we remove pockets of unwanted and stubborn fat which are resistant to diet and exercise, without leaving scars.

BodyTite works to tighten skin and remove fatty deposits in any part of the body. It is especially effective in the following areas:

  • Abdomen (muffin tops, post-pregnancy tummies);
  • Back (love handles, bra bulges);
  • Chest (man boobs or gynecomastia);
  • Inner and outer thighs (saddle bags);
  • Buttocks;
  • Upper arms (bingo wings);
  • and to create defined body contouring such as a `six-pack`.

The Rae Factor

To achieve the optimal results from all the treatments that we perform, our doctor combines the latest innovations in medicine. With Bodytite, we sometimes use a component derived from the fat cells already harvested by liposuction. We then use it to enhance the quality of the skin and boost the natural healing processes.

How does it work?

Firstly, Dr. Ghanem inserts the BodyTite heated hand-piece beneath the skin’s surface through a tiny incision made in the skin. As a result of first melting the fat, the fat removal process is more gentle and less traumatic to the body. Subsequently, after removing the fat, we tighten the saggy remaining areas using RF energy.

The precise and controlled heating effect can target stubborn areas of fat without damaging any surrounding tissue. Moreover, it also contracts the skin and stimulates a healing response that produces new collagen and elastin cells that repair the affected area.

How do I know if I am suitable for treatment? During a consultation with Dr. Ali Ghanem you will discuss the areas of stubborn body fat that concern you and whether BodyTite is the best option for you.

This procedure is ideal for patients with small pockets of fat around the body which they are unable to resolve through changes in diet or exercise.

Moreover, patients with lax skin alongside fatty accumulations, such as a ‘post-pregnancy tummy’, where the skin has been stretched. This makes it an ideal alternative to a surgical tummy tuck in many cases.

BodyTite is not a weight loss solution and is best suited to those with a relatively normal BMI who are looking to achieve additional body sculpting and reshaping.

A full medical history will be taken during your consultation to uncover any allergies, medication administration or other factors which might be unsuitable for any of the treatments that we offer.

If you are pregnant or currently breastfeeding you will not be suitable for a BodyTite treatment and will need to await the period of weaning your child before we can embark on a treatment plan.
What can I expect to happen during a BodyTite treatment? The areas treated with BodyTite will be marked on your body. Numbing solutions will then be introduced under the skin to eliminate pain or discomfort of the procedure.

Following that, small entry points are created, approximately 2-3 mm wide, to enable the BodyTite’s probe/cannula to enter under the skin and deliver radiofrequency energy in order to extract fat cells.

These entry points are carefully positioned to be hidden and will swiftly heal following the procedure.

The BodyTite handpiece consists of a probe, which is also an aspirating cannula, that enters the skin, and an electrode that is placed above it, and outside of the skin. The cannula will be moved around the fat layer whilst the electrode glides along the surface on a thin layer of gel applied for easy gliding.

The procedure takes approximately 1 to 2 hours depending on the size of the area being treated.
How many treatments will I need? The BodyTite procedure is completed in one treatment session. If necessary, the procedure can be repeated after 12 months.
Does BodyTite hurt?
The BodyTite treatment is performed under local anaesthesia injected to the treated area to avoid any discomfort. The process of placing the anaesthesia, which is an infiltration liquid, can be a little uncomfortable for some people.

For those who prefer it, or are especially sensitive to pain, BodyTite can also be performed under sedation.

Our doctor is an expert in pain management and will make sure that you are comfortable throughout the procedure.
What are the possible side effects of BodyTite? Expect swelling, redness, pain, tenderness and bruising after the BodyTite treatment which will usually resolve within a week. Some of the initial swellings is due to the local anaesthetic fluid used during the procedure.

The incisions are small and heal quickly without stitching required. However, in the first 24 hours you can expect leaking of this fluid from the small incisions which will be dressed to prevent infection.

A follow-up appointment is usually required after 24 hours to change dressings and evaluate the healing process. You can expect to return to your normal activities, including work, after 2 or 3 days.

Returning to intense exercise would require more time and is usually possible after 3 – 6 weeks depending on the extent of treatment and or individual healing factors.
What results can I expect? Fat reduction induced by BodyTite is immediately visible. You will be able to see a difference in skin tightness and circumference of an area immediately.

Further improvements will be noticeable once any swelling and bruising had subsided and as this procedure stimulates a wound healing response,.

Continous tightening will occur over the next 2 to 4 months to achieve your new sculpted look.
How long will the results last? Results are expected to last 2-4 years, and the procedure can be repeated after 12 months.
How much does it cost? The cost of BodyTite will depend on the size of the area that you are treating. You will discuss a bespoke solution and price with our doctor, however, prices start from £3900.
